so ... i'm sitting around the other day waiting for the plumber. i just knew it was going to cost me a fortune to have my water heater fixed. (the lemons) i'm missing almost a whole day of work (the lemonade  ).

i was either bored or frustrated by my UFOs (lemons) and i have a huge stash calling to me (the lemonade).

so i made this.

a more accurate look at the colors

I love those colors!! I got them at Walmart and did a quilt block when they used to have their contests for a quilt block. They quit doing it about 3 yrs ago and not every store did it. I found out about it when I was in Florida visiting my sister and then came home to MD and inquired at the stores around here. I won the contest too!! Now what I am doing is making a baby quilt out of the block that I designed. Yep, it is another UFO that I want to get done.

I didn't realize it til just now but I used some of that same purple fabric in my DGD's quilt! When I bought that I didn't see the other colors there, but I bet they were there, I just had purple on the brain that day.

:D What a riot!! Gorgeous!! It's a wake 'em up kind of quilt!

Would the plumber take in in barter?

I've been meaning to ask my farrier if he could use a quilt as a gift for his wife in exchange for hoof trims....

Minda 03-29-2008 05:59 AM

WOW! Those colors really pop!! Love it. :D :D

patricej 03-29-2008 07:02 AM

thanks for the compliments. :P

in addition to the colors in the quilt, i have that fabric in two shades of blue. i think i have at least one yard left of each color if anybody wants to buy or swap for it.

Beautiful, Patrice! I can identify with you. Waiting for a repariman all day is the pits......(like they don't think we have anything else to do......) But, your quilt makes the wait worthwhile----the yellow is just so striking......

sandpat 03-30-2008 05:30 AM

Now thats how to wait for the repairman! Hope your fabric $$$ didn't suffer due to the cost of the repair...you must be needing to replace that fabric you used for this quilt. and quickly!!!

I love the quilt, bright and cheery..love the name too!

RuthiesRetreat3 03-30-2008 03:07 PM

Wow! What a lollipop forest of color this is. I can almost "taste" the sweet and tart at the same time. I hope it's for a baby, they love bright colors!!

ButtercreamCakeArtist 03-30-2008 05:51 PM

Oh, ok....I read "the rest of the story" (thank you there, Paul Harvey) first...and now I understand.
I think I like your version better, anyway!

Moonpi 03-30-2008 07:43 PM

Thi version does look more like pipes going through walls, but they both are eye-popping.

azam 03-31-2008 09:10 AM

Chele 03-31-2008 09:18 AM

hey barn, you might be pleasantly surprised. i have been known to barter my services in exchange for someone else's services. maybe his wife will have a birthday, or they might have a grandbaby.
i love the barter system.
