Well slowly I got there 🥳 Finished the pouches for my Ladies at church and put a hand cream in them (donated by the church) as well as a little pocket prayer quilt 😁
Here are just a few of the prayer quilts I made 😉 and I also had some labels printed 😁 Thanks for looking ❤️ |

I had no idea anyone else was making pocket prayer quilts! Mine aren't nearly as nice, or pretty, but people seem to like them....

Cute and thoughtful! We can all use a little reminder to” look up and kneel down!”
|
These are so precious! What size are the blocks you made? This is something I would love to make for my prayers circle for those who are making prayer request.

I'm not sure who the question is addressed to, but I'll give an answer anyway. Here is a link to a YouTube video that tells how to make them, although I didn't follow the instructions exactly. I make mine 2 1/2 inches before the outer stitching. I also print a backing for mine, rather than pinning a paper to them, and I don't put the cross inside, I stitch it to the outside. Hope this helps/

Sorry....forgot to put the link in....

cute small prayer quilts. I made one for my friend and put it in her birthday card. She loved it. I got the idea from Shabby Fabrics.

I made some for Christmas but wasn't sure they would go through the US Postal mail. I sew a tiny cross to mine. Does anyone know if they can make through the mail and do I need to "package" them in some way?
|
I put mine in envelopes and have no problem. Of course mine are very small.....

I make mine with scrap 4- 2 1/2" squares into a 4 patch and on the back side, I had a prayer I wrote printed out in yardage by Spoonflower. I cut out the prayers and sew a small border (scrap strings) around the prayer, trim it to 4 1/2". I use white felt as the batting. I buy wooden crosses from Oriental Trading, slip one inside, stitch around the whole edge once, then 1/4" from edge. I put the pocket quilts in a clear plastic envelope to keep them clean. If I mail them, I put them in a card. I keep some, in the envelope, in my purse to give away. I put two in the pocket of the tote bag I put comfort quilts in when I give them away.

Those are nice little quilts and I'm sure everyone will appriciate them.

I bought a little kit from Shabby Fabrics. Came with a small golden cross that you sew in to each one and then attach the written prayer. I made them for a luncheon we were having and gifted one to each of my sisters and friends in attendance. You can feel the cross inside as you rub on the cloth. Good reminder to let go let God. My prayer was different yet similar. And as i put the cross in each one I said a specific prayer for the recipient. I have seen several of the ladies since and each one has pulled out her pocket prayer and showed me how she is keeping it near.... We all need a little something extra in these times.....
