This has been my most challenging pocketbook to date. I think I "unsewed" as much as I sewed.

I LUV all the different techniques! How did you learn them all? Any patterns you can share?

beautiful use of various techniques.

the first time I tried the little multicolor on point squares in the last picture, I was positive the directions were wrong. They're not a bit hard----------if you have faith!

mighty 03-14-2012 02:30 PM

That is really a beautiful bag!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tweety2911 03-14-2012 02:38 PM

Beautiful work on lots of wonderful techniques!

BeckyL 03-14-2012 03:13 PM

The different techniques came from the book, Folded Fabric Elegance by Rami Kim. Both the lined prairie points and the chop keys were easy. The North American smocking (close-up third picture) was time consuming and a bit tedious, but not really hard. I didn't have any directions for making the bag, just used basic directions from previous bags. Thanks for all of your kind words.

Wow! Your purse pics came just in time. I've been looking for folded flowers, etc., for quite some time. Only found one book so far. I will surely look yours up. Thanks for sharing!

Great bag. Not sure I would have the patience for all the smocking. Keep up the good work

sammygirlqt 03-14-2012 06:28 PM

Nancy Zeman featured several techniques a year or so ago. I got the book but it's buried in a box of fabric. I'll see if I can find the name.

Pat P 03-17-2012 02:49 PM
