Popcorn Zipper Pouch
1 Attachment(s)
I saw this on YouTube and just had to make one. The Popcorn Zipper Pouch can also be found at www.charmedbyashley.com. I increased the size of mine so I had to figure out a few different measurements but it worked well. I think I will hide my good scissors in this one. I think I might make the small one to store my iPad cord in. The nice thing is when it is empty, it is flat.

Really cute! I've not seen one like that. Thanks for the link!

Very pretty, I like the colors.
|
I love it. Thanks so much for the link.
|
I like how yours came out and I"m intrigued by the concept that it folds flat when empty! Thanks for sharing!
|
Tried going to the link, but I can't find the instructions/pouch anywhere - is it a video or blog or tutorial? Please and thanks!
|
I just ordered the pattern. I could figure it out myself, but like to support the artists who design things I want to make! Thanks for sharing!!!
|
That is a cool pouch!! Well done!

Okay, I just found this youtube which appears to be the right one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMtnIaUdXWQ |
Wonderful! I can see so many uses for this. Have to add it to my to do list!

Yes, cashs_mom that is the correct link. The popcorn zipper pouch was on her site as well as YouTube but it seems to have moved. Thanks for posting the direct YouTube link.

Thank you, Tartan, for posting this. I really like that it can lay flat.
I used to make 'controller bags' along the same idea, but kind of inside out from yours so kind of boxy with the ends seamed and on the inside. The one I did with lining started out about 12 1/2" x 17". I did a few with lapped over opening and then sewed Velcro to keep it closed. I need to make some more, so will try this way so they can lay flat. I have lots of zippers, but most are shorter, so may have to make smaller pouches. Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do. |

Thanks for sharing. That could be so useful to have a bag that has room but lies flat.
|
Thank you. Can see a lot of these in my future.

I guess I'm just being thick, but I couldn't find this pouch anywhere on her site. When I pulled up her shop there were only 4 items none of which were the Popcorn Zippered Pouch.

Nice pouch and I can see many uses for it. I also can see that it would be fairly easy to vary the size for all sorts of objects. Thank you for showing us the pouch you made.

Very, very cute! Thanks for sharing this great idea.

Great idea! How cute and fun to make. I need to share this with a couple of my friends.
|
Those are adorable! Thanks for posting. I will surely try making one. We all need to make fun quick items from time to time.

I don't know which one Ms. Heirloom bought, but the free one is back on Charmed by Ashley's sight.
My guess is that somebody complained she had posted something that was available elsewhere - so Ashley went back and asked for permission to share? Either way, I really like this little pouch! |
Ok, a little searching. The pattern is up - although I don't know how long it will be - on Charmed by Ashley. But there is no PDF. So I googled Hill Top Designs, who she does credit in the current post.
Hilltop Custom Designs does have a pattern for sale; it is $6 for a download. The designer, Amistra, requested people who made them to share pictures to her Instagram account. I wanted to see what people had done, so went to look at them. Ummm.... There's a lot of nastiness over there regarding the pattern & tutorial that Charmed by Ashley did. Enough that I almost didn't buy the pattern, even though I wanted it an actual pattern instead of the notes that CbA posted. Claims of copying, stealing and some pretty mean language. In the end, I did buy the pattern. It's a 6 page pattern that's nicely done, and includes measurements for 4 sizes. I am a very visual person and even though I watched to youtube tutorial, I'm not sure I could do one on my own without a pattern. Given the things being said, I'm concerned that the pattern that is currently posted for free may be taken down. I hope they can work things out; they are both talented women. |
This is the site to order the pattern. It took me forever to find it again!!!

Wow that looks great. I need some of them..
|
Thank you for the link MsHeirloom, I ordered a few things from her. I always like to support the designer, they work hard to design, photo and publish the photos.
|
I just got an email from the designer. This week you can buy the Popcorn Pouch pattern and/or any of her patterns for 10% off with the coupon code POPCORN.
|
Looks like a fun project!
|
Very well done.
