This is a scan of one of the quilted postcares we talked about in the chat room on Thursday night. I must have sold all the cats but this is another one made with a printed material.

I have heard and seen these postcards, but am curious what the reason is for them? You say you sell them?? Are they a quilt label or something else? I saw some really beautiful and embellished ones at a quilt show in Corner Brook last October on the west coast of Newfoundland, but I am curious about the purpose of them

Cheers

I have been involved in swapping quilted postcards through the Carol Doak group, although I was disappointed that I didn't receive back as many as I sent out, which I felt was unfair, so didn't continue in that group.

So here is a couple of pictures of those I sent out.

All hand stitched and sent to my mum in the U.K. as she is called 'Kitty' lol!!!

I got interested in them at a quilt shop that had a display of various printed materials and embellismnets. I have been making quilted and sewn greeting cards for several years and so I started to make the postcards too. I am a Deacon in our church and I send a lot of cards to church members and like to send cards that are homemade and everyone enjoys a special card made just for them. The postcards are a nice surprise for them when they get one in the mail. I do sell them at craft shows and they have been a good product, are not expensive to make and I enjoy making them.

I love the kitty love one. Did you design it yourself? I know how disappointed you must have felt when you thought you would be getting cards back. Been there and done that.

The kitty love one was adapted from a block design I found on the web somewhere I just skewd it to postcard size. I was disappointed as it was my first swap. But anyway, I'm meeting far more interesting and helpful quilting buddies here, so maybe they did me a favour lol!!!! My only fear was that in the postal system, the cards may either go missing or go through the franking machine back to front so get 'stamped' onto the front, but thankfully they all were received in good order.

I'm so glad you figured out how to post the pic. Barb. They are very
interesting and you have made others put in their postcards....they
are very beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing, Barb and everyone.
It is great to talk about things, but to get to see them is a nice bonsus.
Thanks again.

I am so happy to see your postcards. They are wonderful. I love the Kitty and the daisy flower cards. I saw a pattern book a while back. I will have to see if I can find that pattern book. Your cards are great and I now want to make some myself. Thank you so much for sharing. It was nice chatting with you last night.
