Pouches

Well I haven’t posted anything for a while so now I’ll flood this new post with my latest addiction 😉 POUCHES !!!
All sizes and colours, some quilted too and all lined and made with scraps, mostly samples of lined curtain and upholstery fabric 🤩 It’s terrible, it’s like a bug that won’t go away 😂😂😂 But thanks anyway for looking ❤️

You have been busy, cute!

Annaquilts 08-20-2020 02:17 AM

I really like the pouches you made. Great job!

Mkotch 08-20-2020 02:29 AM

They're all really nice. That's a lot of zippers! Do you buy them in bulk? If so, where?

You have been busy with those pouches. They look so fun!

Mk- I order from here. https://zipperstop.com/

You can also order tape and slides to make custom ones. Color card available here too.

I have discovered the zippered bag and pouch. It started out as practice for quilting skills. Your's are so cute. I will add a wrist strap to my next pouch. I've also become addicted to zipper pull charms. https://www.bohemianfindings.com/collections/charms-1
this site has reasonable prices, and they have sent complementary samples with my order.
I ordered faux leather in cobalt blue, red reptile, and brown western embossing. Easier to work with than I thought it would be!
Then I tried a t-shirt! (last pic)

Love them all!

Those are great. Everyone can use pouches for this and that.

I love making pouches of all kinds. Yours turned out so good. They are addicting & fun.

Very cute pouches!

Here's another cute pouch. I've not tried making it yet but looks very cute & different.

I love making pouches too! They are such great gifts and don't take nearly as long, or cost as much, as a quilt. Yours are really nice! Did you have trouble with the curtaining material fraying a lot?

Very nice pouches made with beautiful fabrics.

SallyS 08-20-2020 08:51 AM

They look like lots of fun to make, plus the feeling you get when you make something out of nothing (scraps that would be tossed).

I have never tried my hand at making pouches or bags with zipper. I have made a number of quilted totes before using left over blocks as the center of the bag. Your bags, both of you Elfi2 and aashley333, are beautiful the craftsmanship is just stunning. I can't wait to see more.

I checked out all of your post and pouches, wow, you sure have been busy. What a great way to use scraps. They are all beautiful.

They're a cute, thanks for sharing!!! The ones with a zipper in the middle is a pattern I want to try too but I first want to make some more of the others as I'm planning of making a gift for all the ladies in our church for Christmas. I have mentioned it to our Pastor's wife and will have to talk to him when the bags are made and I'm sure he will be OK for the church to donate a fridge magnet with a Bible passage to put in the pouches as well maybe as a tube of hand cream ;)

Not really as the curtain fabric I use has a type of white lining stuck to it at the back so it keeps everything nicely together and it gives an extra "body" too :)

Many thanks for your compliment :) They're really fun to make and once you get going it takes about 1 1/2 to 2 hrs to make one. I searched on lots of YouTube tutorials to find the best way of putting in zips and I think I mastered it now ;)

GeePatti 08-21-2020 04:00 AM

Beautiful work, as usual!!! Well done, my friend!

SusieQOH 08-24-2020 05:08 AM

I love your pouches! They really come in handy for so many things. I haven't made many but have bought some on Etsy. I use them for a lot of things, not just sewing supplies.
I should tackle some :)
I did make some large bags with see-thru vinyl to hold projects and they are very useful.
