Its just beautiful, tell her congratulations! Your quilt will cherished no matter how you quilt it. I would either free motion stipple or stitch in ditch, do what you are most comfortable with, you have obviously put a lot of time into it and she will appreciate all the piecing.

My youngest has been going to Utica College for nursing. She has one more year left and surprise, She is pregnant. The baby will be born in July which will work out good for her. I am going to show her this to give her encouragement. She is going to finish school and this will show her it can be done. Congratulations to your daughter. I applaude her. Your quilt is gorgeous.

SueDor 04-20-2011 01:55 AM

Wow, what great work. It seems to me that this quilt might have taken as long to make as it was for her to finish school.

SEW 04-20-2011 02:05 AM

Congratulations on the quilt and her endeaver. She is lucky to have such a loving family to help her get through her schooling. So glad she was drawn to take the class. It always makes me feel good when someone gets something they need and deserve. It just goes to show this is certanily her calling.

knittersue 05-08-2011 08:30 PM

Hi all the quilt is off my frame. what a job it took so many hours to stipple. the quilt shop did not sell me enough thread then when I went back for more they were out. so the hunt was on no stress right . my gut told me they were wrong on how much thread I would need for a king size quilt .but being this was there store and did quilts I went with what I was told there the pro's .well thanks to my husband he drove me around till I found some I was told 4 would be plenty well I have used 14 so far at 164 yards eash . big lesson learned OUCH go with your gut and buy big spools .any way I have to finish putting the hearts in the blocks and then the binding on I have to have it for the 16th for becky's gift I just got home form work if I stay up till 3:am I can get the hearts done I have to work a 5 to 7 am tomorrow so not a chance of working on it till tuesday so much preasure thank god it is a prayer quilt I can keep on praying to get done hahaha well this is were I am I hope to post soon and say at last DONE

trif 05-08-2011 09:34 PM

Keep positive, you can get it done, sounds like you are almost there.

knittersue 05-09-2011 10:22 AM

hi thanks I did stay up till 3:am and did all the hearts.now I can get ready to start the binding not sure how wide to cut the binding is it 2 1/2 or 3 inches this is the part I don't like so if any one has some suggestions I will take them.and the best way to putting it on I want to some how do it all on the machine no time for any hand sewing thanks sue

trif 05-09-2011 10:17 PM

2 1/2 inches is what I like for binding. When I have been pressed for time I have used either a coordinating thread and just stitched it down or clear monofilament . Good luck

QM 05-09-2011 10:44 PM

It's lovely and will be treasured, I am sure, however you quilt it. Do what works readily for you, since you have a tight deadline.
