Pretty EPP Stars
I recently took up English Paper Piecing as a way to learn handwork. I never really thought I had the patience for it and I certainly didn't have any skill to speak of. After making maybe three dozen hexagons and attaching them into little scrappy flowers, I decided that I wanted to play with diamonds.
I just cannot believe how much improvement I've shown in so short a time. Makes me want to reach back in time and whack myself for being so set against handwork! It's really oddly satisfying. I've cut out enough diamonds to make enough stars for a Seven Sisters. Two down, five to go (plus connectors). Maybe I'll turn it into a wall hanging? This fabric is absolutely wonderful. It's more of a tealy blue than it shows here and the gold is very metallic. Nice feel to the fabric. https://sphotos-a-iad.xx.fbcdn.net/h...89917073_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.n...87769017_n.jpg |

Amazing how relaxing hand work is, isn't it? And EPP really is quite easy. Kind of like painting....lot's of prep work but once you get that out of the way, it's easy work. Your star looks great.
