That's really stunning! Wonderful wonderful job!!!!!

Auntie B 01-24-2013 08:13 PM

Oh my yes, it is very striking !!! You did a lovely job, I made the same quilt in about 1996 ish. I Still have it, I made it from scraps, all the other ladies in the class bought co-ordinating fabrics, but personally, I thought mine looked the best. Yours is smashing!!!! Makes me want to pull the pattern out and do it again, except bigger !!! Thanks for posting.

Great quilt, the colors all work together. A great universal pattern. :)

stitchinwitch 01-25-2013 06:27 AM

That is a beautiful quilt - not only the pattern, but your exquisite wormanship. It is perfectly straight on the sides and the top is nice and smooth - no puckers or lumps. You are a true artisan!!

That is one fabulous scrappy! Just beautiful.

marla 01-25-2013 07:22 AM

I loove your quilt. I will have to look through my mags to see if I have this pattern.

marytp 01-25-2013 10:43 AM

I agree too....it is very pretty!

anicra 01-25-2013 10:56 AM

Fantastic!

Gorgeous scrappy!!!! I'm trying to use up scraps this year, too, and finishing up some UFOs-- just am so slow getting my mojo on! I've done one UFO and one scrappy top for donation, so at least I'm started!

I'm pretty sure I won't find this pattern as it was 1994...but I'd like to make this and think I can if you could possibly post some sizes for the strips, triangles, etc? and forgive me, if I an somehow violating a copywrite on this. I'm asking because I'm not sure where the boundaries extend on something this old and it is a pretty classic design.
Thanks so much...and once again, forgive me if I've goofed in asking.

hikingquilter 01-25-2013 01:54 PM

Beautiful! I, too, like a "controlled" scrappy.

QandE2010 01-25-2013 06:30 PM

That is gorgeous.

Here is a similar block to the block I used. You can substitute some of the squares for half-square triangle pairings.

After reading the post "Planned Scrappy Quilt Question" and reading your response, I had to come and take a look. You have created a truly beautiful quilt. Thank you for sharing. Sure does give me a lot of encouragement.

Thanks so much, Jennie. This gives me a place to start. I looked more closely and can see how to draft this.
