Love your wall hanging, love the idea of tea staining the fabric, different. Great job.

Tuesy---what a cute wallhanging. I like primitive too---what did you use to stain with and how did you do it?

dojo, that is so cute.

tuesy, your wallhanging is really great. Looks so "primitive" I had to take a second look and realized you stained the background fabric. duh!

So, did you use regular or decaf tea to stain it? Sorry being a wise cracker. Just got off phone with my son and he does that to me.

Is it your own pattern or purchased? I am looking for something for one of my kitchen walls for next year. Think I may go with a rooster though.

Great job!

Tuesy and Dojo - lovely work. I am drawn to the naive and primitive looks too, I have tried teastaining and coffee as well....it really gives a good depth to fabric that is otherwise a bit dull. Decaf wvdek....wash your mouth out!!! :) Terrible what sons can do to you...I had to drive my son long distance today and now I have a hip hop song running through my brain ARRGH!

Thank you all so much for your kind comments. I do love to do these... well once I'm in the mood.

This one wvdek, was something I digitized and then appliqued' with my machine. I took a crow from somewhere, then a fence and then the pumpkins and put them all together to make this scene. I use regular cheap tea PLain or decaf will work. *LOL* (w/m brand) and alot of it.. then I found the walnut crystals to tea stain with. You only use a bit of these.
Then I just heat up water like I"m making tea and then either pour the tea into the water or the crystals and let my project soak in it. Then when I get the desired effect, I'll wring it out, *do not rinse* then hang it outside in the sun to dry. That's how you get the different lines in it from the way the tea stains and runs.
Hmm, I've not digitzed a rooster before... I might have to try that one..I have a thing for chickens
