Need to do quilting on two braids and then attach. Great way to use scraps. Block is from Quilter's Cache... http://www.quilterscache.com/B/BraidBlock.html If you haven't shopped her block pattens you need to take a peak.

wuv2quilt 09-11-2011 03:13 PM

Sew cool.....looks like it be hard to do....b/c of the small pieces

Julie in NM 09-11-2011 03:15 PM

Not hard at all. If block is hard I probably wont do it. All done in strips w/one small black square on the end of one strip.

If block aint easy I aint gonna do it!

quiltinggirl 09-11-2011 03:19 PM

Very nice!

Maggie_Sue 09-11-2011 03:20 PM

Are all of the strips sewn on the batting and backing???

Julie in NM 09-11-2011 03:21 PM

No but I wish I would have done it that way cuz I'd be done!

donnaree59 09-11-2011 03:22 PM

Love this! Great way to use up those small scraps that you just have lying around from other projects. Yours has turned out great! Thanks for posting a picture.

Now I'm confused - what is the white fabric (or batting) showing behind the braids and why did you say above that you still had to quilt two of the braids, "then attach"? I was hoping this was quilt as you go......

luv-e 09-11-2011 05:28 PM

I'm lovin it!!!

Quiltinelaine 09-11-2011 05:31 PM

Nice

mom-6 09-12-2011 03:53 AM

What a cool way to do one! I love how easy a braid is to do, but had not thought of laying one out like that with all the dark on one side and the light on the other. I've only done it alternating 3 colors on each side. The visual depth achieved in yours is awesome!

Tweety2911 09-12-2011 06:37 AM

Beautiful!

LETIA 09-12-2011 08:36 PM

Nice colors! very pretty.

I do like the small black squares added to your braids. Sewing the strips using the quilt as you go would speed up the finishing process. One more quilt idea to add to the bucket list.

nannyrick 03-24-2012 06:26 AM

Verrrrrrrrry nice!!! I like it.

Maria C 03-24-2012 09:16 AM

I like the look you have achieved.

So it really is easy? Because it looks difficult! I'm impressed. I love her site, BTW. It is such a wonderful resource!
