i made this puff patch in the early 90's. had lots of help stuffing it! the front is mostly all polyester scraps & silky fabric [used for lingerie]; the entire back was pieced together & sewn onto the front like you would sew a pillow case, turned right side out & handsewn shut. the flannel back is tied to the front w/ embroidery floss. it has been washed several times & line dried...still in pretty good shape!

That was like a blast from the past! I made my niece a biscuit quilt when she was born, I had forgotten all about that!

I once knew a lady that made them and used the leg of a nylon to stuff each square. Nice quilt

i made my own little squares for patterns & cut every one by hand. they're not hard at all once you figure out how they go together.

Ahhh! Those polyester scraps!! They were alweays too big to throw aeway, but what to do with them. I wasn"t as ambitious as you, I only made one large enough to use as a floor pad for my new grandaughter. She loved the bright colors, and it was well padded if she toppled over. It's been used as a picnic blanket too. Went through four babies, washed hundreds of times, and dstill looks like new. One thing about poly., it didn"T fade!! LOL
