What a challenge that would have been to line front and back up to actually quilt together or long arm. How did you do that? Purple is my favorite color also. What a beautiful gift. It would be grand if the couple were to open the gifts in front of family and friends so others could see your outstanding work.

Both sides are beautiful, my fav is the back.

I'm not a purple person, but I like your quilt.

Stunning! The Milky Way pattern is appealing because its simplicity creates such a dramatic look. Tessellations are always fascinating. The purple/white is a great combination, and the borders are a great ending. The back is beautiful, and I also wonder at getting it lined up so perfectly.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words.

I glue baste my quilt sandwiches. When I put the top on the already-glued-together backing and batting, I carefully line up the centers down the length of the quilt to keep it straight. I've done several this way, and each time, it seems a little straighter--practice, practice, practice. :)
