Greetings from Idaho. When you made your strips and got to the part where you add a new strip, did you cut them at an angle or stright across. I hope this makes sense. I can't find the information I'm looking for. If you can find me an answer I would really appreciate it.

Well, I did it not quite the way they do the jelly roll strips. I actually just sewed the ends of one strip together to the other--not at an angle. Then, I cut the strips approximately the same length and sewed them together. Then, I trimmed after the huge piece was together. Trimming was a pain, though. A big pain.

Very pretty and as they say practice makes perfect. I have only FMQ'd a couple of quilts myself so I have to do more to get it right :)

Rose Burnett 08-07-2012 01:26 PM

Love your quilt. I use strips that I cut in different sizes. One row is 1.5 inches wide, another 4 inches, etc. From one inch to six inches wide are my strips. Some quilts are all colors, but I prefer the ones that are color families.....blue, red, black, etc. They make wonderful charity quilts and I love to make them. When I get started, I can't quit. I will finish four or five tops in one night. I make them about 42 inches by 50, 60, or 72 inches long.
