Purples pinks "jelly roll style" scrappy quilt
1 Attachment(s)
The first time I saw someone post a jelly roll quilt, I thought...why not just use some of my 2.5" strips and sew them kind of randomly together, trim and make a scrappy one? (I started my quest to whittle down my scraps in 2011 and it is continuing to this day.) This is the purples/pinks one.
I am just working on finishing a bunch of quilt tops that I have--both charity ones and personal ones. (We tied 10 charity ones yesterday--had 6 helpers over here--my kids and their friends...) Anyway, I am pleased. This one seems enormous to me. I am pleased with how it looks and it my first attempt at FMQ such a large one--and only 4th ever FMQing. I tried to not get too dense, as I like them kind of fluffy. Am using poly batting as that is all I have here in Poland. Have plenty of room for improvement, but am pleased since I am such a beginner at FMQ. |
WOW - Just terrific, great job and thank you for sharing, love the colors
Have a Blessed day Ellen |
I love it. I was just about ready to embark on my own jelly roll quilt challenge. I was thinking of FMQ as well, but I never quilted anything bigger than 30 cm x 30cm in free motion. As a matter of fact, I signed up for a class in FMQ to in hopes to learn some tips and tricks. Great patchwork, wonderful quilt!

One of the prettier ones I've seen.
I like the colors (and placement of them) that you used. |

I thought as you did , and used purple and green strips. I was so surprised how beautiful it turned out. I think I might quilt that one today!
