Here is a purse I made tonight. Took me about 2 1/2 hours to make it. I reinforced it with thermo web and a cotton fabric. Made it very sturdy to work with but sewing the straps to hold the handle was a PAIN. But its cute I think.

That's nice Henry. Is that a Satin Brocade material? It looks like it would be slippery to work with. Who will be the lucky recipient?

live2teach 02-27-2008 02:18 AM

That is lovely, Henry! Are you going to sell this one? I really like that material.

henryparrish76 02-27-2008 04:17 AM

Hi Pam that is a satin brocade material. It wasnt slippery to work with because I used thermo web to fuse the cotton to the other side and it made it very sturdy to work with then. I do not know who will be the lucky person who gets it. :)

Hi Heather,
I think I will sell this one. :)

I like the purse, I too make purses to sell. One little bit of advise. Women love pockets inside the purse. Just a thought for you.

henryparrish76 02-27-2008 01:03 PM

Yeah I have to include those don't I:)

3incollege 02-27-2008 01:21 PM

Henry, what creativity! I just love your style. Are you going to put it on etsy? Oh the handles, are they the ones you bought at JoAnn's?

DonnaRae 02-27-2008 01:25 PM

Henry, I put up a new listing with some purses I made. Not as pertty as yours though!

DonnaRae 02-27-2008 01:26 PM

OOps I put it under Main, and not pictures. Oh well,

henryparrish76 02-27-2008 02:27 PM

Donna,
Yes those are the handles :) I am thinking about doing that. :)

I too make purses. I use some silk, all are lined with pocket and handles made with lined fabric. I do embellish them with beads and funky threads. I and am looking for a ballpark figure to charge for them. Any suggestions??

Henry, your purse is lovely. For a new quilter you sure are knocking out some great pieces. Good job. Thanks for sharing.

Hi, I am signed up at Better Homes & Gardens and got this email today for this pattern. I thought you Henry might like it. It is for a tote but with pockets. Take a look. I am going to post this also in links. After the tote is how to make a matching wallet and checkbook cover.

You are really getting great at making these! This one should go 'quick'! Next thing is we'll hear about 'H' and his line of purses...and, they will all have to have one!:))Just like the other famous initials in our markets. Good job! Will anxiously await to see your next creative moment...Skeat

henryparrish76 03-04-2008 01:58 PM

Oh I like it. Just bookmarked it! :)

henryparrish76 03-04-2008 02:00 PM

Hehehe, yeah its gone before I could even put it on Etsy. A friend of mine named Lili bought it from me

DonnaRae 03-04-2008 03:00 PM
