I've said it before. This board has a lot of responsibility for the trouble I get into. First I had to make a tote with the Bunny Hill pattern, Jelly Bags. Those were pretty simple and turned out pretty cute. Then I had to try the Bow Tucks Totes that everyone here was making and sharing. Oh, yeah! Very addictive!! Then I needed a bag for my granddaughter so I bought the Potato Chip Bag pattern (bet you can't make just one!) for her.
This really got out of control when I decided that all of my daughters needed to have a new purse when we gather in June for our youngest daughter's wedding. I'm done now. But wait! I didn't make one for me! Sigh! One more!!! There may be one extra in the picture but I'm not sure at this point!! A nest of bags! "at what number of something do we tag it an 'addiction'"? Not yet, you still need one more bag so we will save the tag for ? bag # 30?  |
They're all so cute. Darn you Yvonne, now I want to make a bag today!
|
They are great looking bags! I made 6 totes for the bridal party last year. They get addicitng- the first is the hardest and before long, they're easy as pie!
|
Is she calling us 'enablers'? Why I never!
I intend to start mine next week. Thanks for showing us your beauties. Your gals will all be pleased. Nicely done. |
They are WONderful!

It was worth all that work
|
Oh my have you been busy. They are all beautiful. I can not believe you have gotten so many done. Every one of them is unique.

Addicted? Who's addicted?? Not me! I can quit at any time... well maybe just one more. You see, I have this fabric... Oh! Addicted! I get it.
Snap bag? I need to go look that one up. I've not made one of those. Yet! I do have a Simplicity pattern to try out this week!!! I think the draw of these bags, for me, is that they can be made in a day or so. I spent several months completing several UFOs and needed a break. This is a great way to do that. Your still playing with fabric but it's almost instantaneous satisfaction with a completed project. Great fun! For all of you that haven't jumped in, hurry! It won't hurt a bit! I promise. You'll just have way too much fun. Trust me! Thank you for all the sweet comments! |
You do such beautiful work. I wish I was your daughter.
|
They are all so beautiful! Where can I find the potato chip bag pattern??
|
I just sent a new order to Connecting Threads and it's almost all bags. I've been bitten by the the bug too.

I picked my pattern up in a kit at one of our local quilt stores, http://scottiedogquilts.com.qtrop.net/ I know she has the pattern but I don't see it on her web site. Hope this helps. Hey! I just tried googling "potato chip bag pattern" and there are several sites that are selling this pattern. Of course there were several listed that were making purses out of actual potato chip bags! Choose carefully! I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one that is loving this slight change of pace in the world of quilts. |
Yvonne, Thank you so much for this info. I want to try this bag for myself!
|
Very nice selection! I have not made any bags yet, but my quilting friends are just getting started with making them. So far I have resisted. Don't think I will hold out much longer, though.
|
Oh my gosh!! You go girl! They are all so pretty, but I want one like the front blue striped one. Dang it, you are getting me in the mood again. I guess you are just as guilty as we are now... LOL!

That front blue bag is a Bunny Hill pattern. It's her jelly roll bag and is so simple to make. I love it. Plus if you do use a jelly roll the fabric choices all go together. No ugly combinations! It's a no brainer, which I love! Oh, yes! I think you must make one. It's gonna happen. Why fight it?? Thank you very much for checking out my totes! |
wow, cool!
|
I've tried searching for this pattern that you've made some many. No luck. please give me a hint.
Those bags look so delicious. |
You have quite a beautiful collection of purses, all sew gorgeous!! I'd like one of each please, lol!!
|
Yvonne, Those bags are really lovely! I am into making bags, also. I recently did one in red, white, and black Oriental print trimmed with black and I quilted the whole thing. I really enjoy this project, along with making quilts. Dot

Thank you again everyone. I've managed to make three more totes since I last wrote. This way my girls can have one of each pattern. Meanwhile, I still have none! Isn't that just the way?? I'll make mine once we get home from the wedding. That way there'll be no girls around to claim it at theirs.
