Here are photos of some purses I have made. This got started by a young friend wanting to give these to her bridesmaids and and as we now say the "monster" grew from there.

I love love love the one with flip flops!

Those are so nice! Are you selling them or are they still gifts? How much do you charge as they have the beading which is an extra cost and more work?
|
Love the details you added

The pattern is Simplicity 6391 and I am not sure it is still a current pattern.
I do not sell them. I only make for gifts and myself. The beading does escalate the cost particularly when some of the beading I have used is as much as $20/yard that I have purchased at High Fashion near downtown Houston. I have purchased at Hobby Lobby and JoAnn's at a more reasonable cost. You need almost a full yard to do 1 purse. I find myself typically purchasing the beading first and then finding fabric to go with the beading. I use cording on the ones without beading. The first bags I made I sewed the tape in with the beading on it as in the brown and turquoise bag, but was not 100% pleased with the way the beading hung as you had to stitch so close to the top bead to hide the tape that the beading just did not hang properly. Even though it is a lot more work I now sew the beading on by taking the beads off the tape and sew directly to the bag during the construction while it is still flat and I like the result much better. You will note I use the self-adhesive tape as a guide to get the beads spaced evenly. I am posting a couple of photos which probably helps explain it better. Just takes a lot more time. |
Way too cool!!!Great job!!
