Purse I made while back that also was quilted. You can wear it on your shoulder or as a back pack.

You did a great job. Where did you get the pattern. I'd like to make one of these for myself?

DonnaRae 02-27-2008 01:30 PM

I don't remember the first purse pattern, but the one I am getting ready to put a zipper on is Tammy Tadd design, but I altered the design. The shoulder/back pack is by Lazy girl. But you can find all kinds of free patterns on line. Go to U Handbag (I pertty sure that is what it is called.) It is a blog and she is great, with free patterns and hints and everything. I learned alot from her. I will check and get the site and come back with it. :D

Here it is http://u-handbag.typepad.com/uhandblog/ All the purses/totes are free tutes and patterns, and look around her forum/site she has most listed at one spot as downloads. Also look around she has great hints and things. A great site if you want to make purses! I learned to put boning along the seams. It keeps the purse stable. Don't need to do though if you quilt the purse which I love to do. I guess that is the quilter in me.

Thanks for the site. I'm going to click on it now and go there. Thanks again.

I love bags!!! I'm hoping to make a couple soon with seminole designs in them!!!

DonnaRae 02-27-2008 02:33 PM

I have been thinking of making a quilt with seminole designs, but you may be on to something. A purse is a good idea, or maybe a tote, hmmmm, think I will do a seminole tote bag. :D

Those are so cute. Here's one I made to carry to football games, and I've ended up carrying it all the time. It's really lightweight, which I like.

purse with pockets inside for phone, cash, and keys.

bj, that's cute too! Love how you made it for your team! These fabric totes are very nice because they're lightweight. And most of them can be laundered.

What a great idea, great bags...thanks for posting it....I really want to try it one day ....(when I have the time...since I am too busy being here...lol)

DonnaRae 02-27-2008 04:27 PM

Great bag. I am sure a lot of fans want one of those.

Belinda 02-28-2008 09:07 PM

I think all the purses and bags are just great! Your colors and styles are so cool! I think I would like to try this someday. :-D

helenrhoades 02-28-2008 09:10 PM

These are so awesome! I've been wanting to make something similar, just bigger to tote groceries around rather than using the plastic bags.

Pam Pollock 02-28-2008 10:59 PM

Very Nice! Sure do like all the pockets in the finished one!! You've been very busy!!

sewbusy 02-29-2008 09:38 AM

wonderful, just wonderful I especially like the pockets to arange everything neatly in the bag, makes it easy to reach in grab your items.

I did have a lady at one game offer me $50 if I'd make her one, but I didn't take her up on it. I don't think I'm a good enough quilter to charge people. Too much pressure for perfection (which I am no where close to).

DonnaRae 02-29-2008 12:09 PM

I think the bag looks great. You should have taken her up. Different bags do cost and are hard to find good ones! :-)

sewbusy 02-29-2008 01:21 PM

I am sure you are being just to hard on yourself ----next time take the money--let them deceide of you good enough or not!!
