I have been doing the sewing for some of my family and friends this last week and I just finished up the little purse a couple hours ago. I hope you enjoy seeing them. The green ones are corderoy with purple leather accents and handles.
Sara's flannel p.j.'s There is two of these just alike. Your not seeing double... LOL! Here is the inside ... |

This is the little one. It has a body made from a heavy tapistry fabric with navy blue leather details and straps, and indigo blue denium strap tabs and snap closure tab. (A vogue pattern) I added the zipper to the back because I love to put my keys in a back pocket. Even though this isn't mine, I like to add features I like if they aren't included.
For my buddy who always wears blue jeans.... Here is the back ... |
I love both of these. I adore that shade of blue with the red on the pjs. And I would love to learn more about the purses that you made.
Those pjs are soooo cute!!! I really like those purses too!!! :D :D
Oh how pretty those pj's are and the purses are adorable you do wonderful job with your sewing
I love your purses and the PJs are darling. Great job on all of them.
Thanks so much girls! The p.j.'s top has dancing ice cream coneson it. I got it at hancock's last week. I just couldn't resist it. The lite aqua check was the only fabric I liked with it in the whole store. It is a mcCall's pattern.
The green purses are a simplicty pattern and it has white fleece padding and sew in stiff interfacing. They have matching cording along the edges to protect them from wear. I will go up and get the number later to post for you, Hunnib, if you are interested. They still sell it. |
The PJs are adorable!
I want a pair! :) The purses are too cute! |
Thanks so much!
I would like to have a pair like this too, teri. LOL! Thanks little hud, mountain moma, diana, hunib, and sharon b.! I am not a fast sewer, but I really try to get it as perfect as I can. I was really happy with my bernina. It sewed though all those layers and fabrics like it was butter. How nice that was. |
Nice job!
Love the pjs, what a lucky little girl
Very cute!!!
Oh, Red! You did those purses, really? They are GREAT! The pj's are so sweet -- I could see my little granddaughter in them. You are gooood.
I was mainly interested in the fabrics you used. My daughter likes this style bag. She doesn't like inside pockets. I've made some similar from scratch but I like yours much better. :)
Your purses are awesome!
Thank you so much sewnsewer, ladybugquilter, ducky, pocoellie and Lisa! It is so reassuring to hear such nice comments.
Hunnib ... I use a heavier weight of fabric and thread on most of my purses. It gets some hard use, and I want it to hold up to it for a long time. |
Your purses would sell great in a high end shop like NYC. Have you thought of submitting one to a buyer or consignment shop? You definitely have great potential with them! PJ's are adorabbbbbble!
Wow! Very nice! :)
Very nice.
What EXCELLENT work! Those look great!
WOw those are nice and I just love the bags.
I like!
Can I put in order in for MY purse? lol |
they are just so cute. lucky little girls to get them.
Awww ... Thanks so much.
Your sweet words are like music to my ears thanks so much... n2scraplvr, Barb. quilt4u, gaigai, renee, grammy Dwynn, and dkbeck. I have sold a few of them. But, only to friends as gifts. I don't enjoy it as much as making gifts for friends. Three at fourty five and one at fifty dollars. I am way too slow to be able to do this for a living. LOL! Really, by the time you buy all of the accent leather, handles, the hardware and other materials, there really isn't that large of a profit margin. I think it would take the fun out of it. |
cute pj's and nice purses
where did you get the hardware for he handles? |
I bought the handles and accent fake leather pieces from hancock fabrics on clearance some time ago. I have a huge stock of them, all colors and styles. But, I checked and Joann's has them. I think they are called, Exclusively Yours, brand. But the rings are sold seperately, I buy those at a place called, Mill Ends, a local warehouse discount fabric store.

What darling little pj's and adorable purses. Takes me back to when I was sewing for my 3 little girls. I enjoy making purses as well - am working on the mini bow-tucks by Penny Sturges. I love her patterns because the instructions are great. Thanks for sharing your labor of love. She's a lucky little girl. :D Have a blessed day! SuzyB
