QAYG Sampler

1 Attachment(s)
Our guild was given twenty four patterns to make if they wanted. Needless to say I only got 12 done but decided that was enough and made this quilt which will be a soldier's quilt. My squares were fun to quilt but the part that becomes the sashing is always hard for me to do. Any suggestions to make it look better would be appreciated. This is one of my four UFO's completed, yeh! Hope to get at least two more done before the end of the year.

I haven't tried the QAYG. Yours look good.
Are you unhappy with the sashing? Can you just do a decorative machine stitch.

I am not sure what your problem is. I used to have problems getting straight lines on sashing until I started using cornerstones.

That came out very well. Don't see any problems with the joins/sashing, they look nice & even to me. I machine stitch everything when joining the squares, but sometimes the back portion doesn't get caught in the stitching so I just go back and hand stitch those areas. Next time I'm going to try glue basting.

I have not done QAYG. I think your sashing looks fine. I over critique myself and really the recipients will not see it or care. You did a fine job
