Hi the quilt is Egyptian theme Nile around the edge with lotus above a breakfast and dancing scene each side and usual Egyptian figures in middle with queen in the center Have finished all of the panels just waiting on some color cotton for applique of 2 small panels in corners I can post images off each the panels if people were interested The panels are 10"x10" finished so most of the images are 7-8" tall. I use a Janome MC11000 and most of the images are done in Macro hoop 8" x 11" .I have to split the file in 2 ,most have 50-70K stitches. I usually use the recommended color for stitch out. Posted image of the quilt in layout as I'm just starting to piece it together..have a Janome 6600P for this job..have been working on this for about 6 months

Hi I'm going to post panels as I was starting to go through the process of how I was going to put quilt together this pic is what I did for the boarder ..it's the Nile river with fish and lotus flower and where it goes around corner..I done these in a Janome macro hoop..The lotus boarder is 4 designs merged together and the fish are merged in a separate file I used the grid insert in the hoop to place parts as required...I can do this with software SewWhat..... computer is connected to the machine so I can change things on the fly as I go the software shows the hoop with grid so I can move design the where its required to stitch.....Zoo

Hi isewman The applique design file has sat in the computer for a long time ..I looked at how to do applique for quite a while on youtube most of ti was simple single designs..... the Queen of Egypt (4 design files) has (7) seven pieces per panel ..they over lap and its done in two halves like a split design ..the only way I could work it out was with a program SewWhat I could click onto each of the colors and see what the section was doing took a little back and forwarding but I could see what was happening, the instructions that come with the design are very difficult the follow and if you do you will not end in a good place..I will admit the first panel I did , which was the cat scene I tried the three times before I got a work ethic that worked..If anyone wants to do these four scenes I would be happy to help them through......You must be patience or it will do head in real quick...Who ever designed it is very clever...another mistake I made in the lower right corner panel ..brick wall with earn..I thought the brick wall applique material needed to be a brick scene print ..so I digitized a brick file and sewed onto the material before it was glued to the block little did I know it embroidered over the top so that brick file was part of the file ..so that one had to be redone....The hardest part of the Queen was her dress as it has a satin base with fine tulle over it.Had to use masking take to keep it from catching and getting in the way of the foot was a bit of nightmare in the pic the satin looks a different color ..it just a light difference the camera hasen't adjusted too I like the applique look gives good depth the image if you have any questions about this please ask....Zoo

Hi isewman ..Just a follow up on the applique materials in the urn scene material used is...mottle blue pond - mottle beige brick wall- clay & dark blue urn -green foliage- Prussian blue handrail -white satin-white tulle dress .....Zoo
