Please leave it as is...It is too pretty with the different stitching..I don't have a long arm, just do free motion on a frame with my regular machine...I love it...

Amazing.

If you want to add stitches I like the ribbon Idea. Hope you post another picture with what you decided to do.

I love it.

Just Beautiful!

I think it is very nice the way it is, but it is your quilt and if you want to add to it or change it a bit I am sure it will still be terrific.

Thanks for your response. I will post another picture of this quilt very soon. The binding is on and now I'm hand stitching the back.
After posting this on the board, I feel more confident about leaving it as is.

wow. I don't long arm yet - but that's simply beautiful!

I have taken out machine quilted stitches and I know it's not that hard and it doesn't take that long. I think I would like the meandering to be small on the white border so it makes the green border pop like the other inner areas of the quilt. I do feel the red border should be in the larger meader so it is not noticed. If it we smaller like the green border I would suggest not quilting it at all. You did a great job.

You could use the large meander as a spine and put some leaves along it. Ribbons and leaves.

It is stunning. I think the double ribbon effect would add just that little bit extra that you're looking for.

I hope you will post a new photo of the ribbon border when you are done. I love to see these quilting ideas... it really helps me plan my own quilting better.

I like the large meander, it helps to keep the quilt softer

I think it looks beautiful as is. I wouldn't do a thing to it. It looks like it was meant to be that way.

I totally agree with this solution. It is beautiful as is or.....

Love the quilt.

I once added a line to make a ribbon effect and because of the one sided effect I ended up adding a line on both sides and loved the effect. It looked unbalance at first with only one side added, but looked very complicated and nice after the other side was added. There was no way I could take out the stitching because my machine stitches are almost impossible to remove.

You could always just do some little meandering inside all the large meandering. I personally like the large meandering in the borders.

Could you put leaves along your large meandering stiches? Perhaps is a different thread color

wolph33 02-25-2011 02:12 PM

looks great.you could mini-stipple in the big stipples-just an idea it really likes fine.
