Holy cow, that's awesome! I'm jealous!

Bluebonnet Sue 12-26-2010 03:12 PM

Looks like heaven on earth for any crafter. Especially for a quilter. Looks like this might be a basement area, turn playroom for the lady of the house.??? Wish we had basements in Texas. Always wanted one.

rootyr 12-26-2010 03:17 PM

Wow! How beautiful!!!!

Nice Room... Love having lots of space...
I sooo miss my large sewing room I had in our last house...

Spring 12-26-2010 03:29 PM

Your space is amazing! I want one just like it!

grann of 6 12-26-2010 03:46 PM

Thanks every one!! I always wanted one but my husband wouldn't allow it. Now it is just me, and it's MY money now, so a dream fulfilled. It is the main reason I bought this house in the country, so I could have a nice sewing space. My son has friends who are in home renovations and they did it for me to my specifications. Of course now I wish I had more counter space to fit all my sewing machines. I have 2 put away. One will come back up in the kitchen so I can sew and keep the dogs company.

KatFish 12-26-2010 03:47 PM

Beautiful sewing room with so much space. I'm green with envy.

I have 5 that I use on a regular basis. One is actually my granddaughter's, but she doesn't seem interested in it now. I have Vikings, a Designer 1, a Designer SE, a Topaz 30, a Diamond, and my DGD's Viva. Then I have a White treadle, my mother's old Singer, a hand crank Singer, a non-operative treadle with parts missing, my neighbor's old Kenmore her husband gave me when she passed away, another old one another neighbor gave me, plus 2 other old Singers. What's that, around 11 I think. Plus I have 2 sergers and a blind hemmer.

LeeAnn 12-26-2010 04:01 PM

Incredible space! I love the floors too.

Becca Bear 12-26-2010 04:13 PM

Can I come to your place and play? I'd love to have somewhere like this to sew but will be thankful that I can sew and not be envious of others good fortune. Your sewing room is beautiful

Damsel in DisDress 12-26-2010 04:24 PM

Great Space! Bet it's a JOY to work in!

Debbie B 12-26-2010 04:26 PM

Do you give lessons or are you a professional? So many sewing machines! And everything looks so good!

Joan 12-26-2010 04:36 PM

That is a wonderful well planned room and I can relate to your comment--"Quick, Look, before it gets messed up!"---I make big messes, too, but the end quilt results are always worth it!

kim_s 12-26-2010 04:37 PM

Wow, what a great little (big, actually) sewing room!

ginnie6 12-26-2010 04:38 PM

Great space!

fabric whisperer 12-26-2010 04:51 PM

oh, what I wouldn't give to have room like that to spread out all my toys! I am forever spilling out of my tiny sewing room into the livingroom with the embroidery machine, the kitchen table with the serger... wherever i can make a spot, there will sit a machine sewing away :)

Maride 12-26-2010 04:52 PM

That must be the most amazing room I have ever seen. Can I go help you work?

mom2suki 12-26-2010 05:05 PM

Oh my gosh...your sewing room is awesome!!! I can only dream of having a space like this one day!!! Totally green with envy  !!!!!!

It is Beautiful! What is the Island called??? It doesn't look like a kitchen island. Where did you buy it? I live in the UK and we have nothing like that over here!

Hugs

They are both made according to my specs. The smaller one is formica topped to fit my cutting board. The big one is 60x80 and padded for ironing, but also has a cutting mat at one end. There are file cabinets on each corner of both cabinets to hold my supplies, The ones at the big table are filled with quilting fabric. And as you can see they are on big casters so they can be rolled together when I am working on large projects like window treatments.

I used to give lessons, but with the economy that has kind of dried up. I also do custom sewing too, but that has been almost nil for the past year. Thus time for quilting.

annieshane 12-26-2010 06:15 PM

I would think I had died and gone to quilter's heaven if I had such a space. You must really enjoy this beautiful area. I think I see 5 machines, or six. How do you know which machine you want to use for what function? So many wonderful decisions.

MrsMoe4487 12-26-2010 06:23 PM

What a great room to get some inspiration in!! Good luck with your next project!!
