I have given lessons, but the economy has taken a toll in that. I actually have somewhere around a dozen, not all of them are in working condition. But the ones you see I do use all the time. One I do embroidery on, one I usually have my walking foot on, one the 1/2" foot, one I mostly wind bobbins and use for a certain thread color if necessary. I came about that many because I found it cheaper to keep the old one when I upgraded rather than trade in. I also do a lot of design on the computer and then download that into the Diamond.

So here is what the room looks like right now. I am starting on a new project. Hope to post more tomorrow as I progress.

That is an amazing room!!

kflan 12-27-2010 03:14 PM

I could move right into such a wonderfully appointed and roomy space. Lucky you! It must be hard to leave when you get involved in a project.

Yes, I love it down there, but the dogs don't like me down there for very long. Heidi won't go in the basement because she is afraid of the stairs, and Gus isn't allowed right now because of his ACL surgery.

Gina_D 12-27-2010 03:22 PM

You are so lucky!!! I don't think I'd ever leave that room if it was mine.

cjmat 12-27-2010 03:59 PM

Oohhhhh..I would SO love to have your sewing room! Mine is a little room about 8½ x 8½ feet. And it's also the spare room with the murphy bed so must be emptied out if we have company (which we just did).

kacy 49 12-27-2010 04:10 PM

Oh my goodness. Your room is beautiful. It is so big. Love your cutting table.

Maus 12-27-2010 04:29 PM

Wow!!!!! I wish my sewing room was half as neat as this - can't get in there at the moment - stuff everywhere (including the floor). But I do have it on the list of things to do while I'm on holidays - now how many hours are there in a day???????

Quilter2B 12-27-2010 04:31 PM

I'm so green - what a beautiful work space! You'll have to show it to us messy too

A1Lori 12-27-2010 04:41 PM

I just got my "dream sew and quilt room" too. About 1/3 the size of yours - but what I can afford and it works well for me. Luck you!

moonwolf47 12-27-2010 05:08 PM

I am instantly turning green!!! lol What a spacious, lovely and oh so tidy sewing studio you have!

What a wonderful sewing room, I'm eating my heart out!

Jackie R 12-27-2010 05:30 PM

What a wonderful sewing room. Do you sew just for your own sewing and quilting satisfaction or do you have a commercial business here too? It's a fantastic place to say the least.

I'd give almost anything for a tiny part of that terrific sewing area - you should see mine!

Calico Grammy 12-27-2010 06:15 PM

I have 5 that I use on a regular basis. One is actually my granddaughter's, but she doesn't seem interested in it now. I have Vikings, a Designer 1, a Designer SE, a Topaz 30, a Diamond, and my DGD's Viva. Then I have a White treadle, my mother's old Singer, a hand crank Singer, a non-operative treadle with parts missing, my neighbor's old Kenmore her husband gave me when she passed away, another old one another neighbor gave me, plus 2 other old Singers. What's that, around 11 I think. Plus I have 2 sergers and a blind hemmer.

11 Sewing machines - now thats a dream come true.

ilovetosew 12-27-2010 09:02 PM

I'm very jealous of all your space and large table!

Gotcha beat by a mile....2 sergers, 5 machines used on a regular basis, about 8 vintage & antique, and a blind hemmer. Also have a knitting machine that I rarely use any more.
