Very pretty. I have a couple of her books and have made 2 of the wreaths. Very fun and easy.

Gorgeous. It looks like lilac flowers, one of my favorites. Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to see it quilted.

Misplaced flower squares? Just don't see 'em! Beautiful work and colors. Thanks for sharing!

Do you have to use interfacing with a grid on it? If so, where do you get it? I'm requesting this book from the library. I can't wait.

How much of the lilac fabric did you need? I ordered the book, but haven't received it yet. I want to order the material now so I will be ready to start when the book comes. :)

Grammy (I'm Grammie, too, X 11. lol) The one I did is entitled "Floral Heart Wreath" and the finished quilt size is 26 1/2" X 26 1/2". The wreath panel itself is 16 1/2" X 16 1/2", and each square size is 2".

Materials are as follows:

1/4 yard edge fabric for the heart
1/4 yard background
1/4 yard "full floral" fabric for the heart body
1/4 yard for the inner border
3/4 yard for the outer border and binding
31: X 31" piece of batting
1 yard for the backing
3/4 yard lightweight fusible interfacing, 22" wide
Thread to match background fabric or wreath, inner border, and outer border.

The book has some really good explanations on what "full floral" means, as well as "edge fabric". It describes how to "read the fabric" so you get the right floral cuts and how to mix/match fabrics to get a pleasing effect.

If you look at the book's pages at amazon.com you can actually read a little bit about fabric selection.

I used one fabric for the entire wreath, but will try a mixture of fabrics with the next one. I bought my fabric at Joann's and had trouble finding anything that went well with it so will try some of the quilt shops this time for greater selection.

Happy Quilting!
Helen
