A Quickie Quilt

1 Attachment(s)
I had a Moda Layer Cake pack for awhile and the other day I realized it would make a good quilt for one of my DIL's. It went together really fast and I did very little quilting but I think she'll like it because they are 'her colors'. Size is approximately 50 x 60, wanted to make it a bit bigger but I didn't care for some of the pieces of cake - the colors clashed too much with the ones I did use. Sorry photo is a bit off and sideways, couldn't get my photo program to turn it right side up. May in Jersey

PS: Just noticed photo posted with the top row cut off. Sucks, wish it cut off the bottom where DH's feet are in his old broken down sneakers, don't think anyone would mind if they weren't in the photo.

If you just slide the bar at the bottom of the post to the right, you will see the complete quilt and your DH's scruffy old shoes don't show - and I love the colors and prints, they really make this a happy quilt, one that your DIL is sure to treasure!

Sometimes it's so nice to just make a quickie, especially when it turns out so pretty. Great job. I don't mind your hubbie's feetin the pic it shows me that he's willing to help you. Peggy

That's a really nice quilt. I feel sure your DIL will love it. And, at least you were able to get your DH out of the recliner and sanding up so you aren't looking at the dirty soles like I often have to do around here. LOL

I made one of these in yellows and light blue prints for my LQS. But I put on a 6 inch border and then quilted it in an edge to edge pattern in daker blue thread. The shop owner told me that she has had so many positived remarks on it that she would like me to make more in her other lines of fabric. I quess because the large squares really show off the fabric and then when the quilting pattern is so outstanding it just pulls it all together. Off course, she selected fabrics that were breath takingly beautiful.

Hey Betty, How did you know that I had to get DH out of his recliner to hold the quilt and that he wears those dirty old sneakers around the house all the time? Were you peeking in the window? LOL! - May
