Quilt with bag?

2 Attachment(s)
When I was making my mother in laws quilt. I wanted to get a bag for it. So it has a place when it's not out. Every time I buy a comforter in the store I get a bag. So I asked my birth mother where I can get one. We both had no clue so we made her a bag for her quilt. Inside the bad we place any left of pieces we had just invade repairs need to be done. The first photo you can kinda of see the bag we made for it. When I made the quilt I left 5 blank squares so down the road sw wants to add a new grand baby or one of her grand kids get married she can.

Rafters looks like he takes his job very seriously and guards the quilt very well

omgtimmcgraw 01-30-2013 10:08 PM

omg yes he does. i am sewing in sewing room he is there. if i am at the kitchen table he is there. he helps with everything even cutting and pining....he has to test everything out first. he makes my job very hard to get stuff done.

my MIL loves the quilt. when we gave her the quilt she was brought to tears and was shocked with all the photos i placed in her quilt. quilt remains on the end of the bed. only gets put away when my son is not feeling well.

That is a really nice quilt. What did you print your pictures on and what type of quilting did you do? Make one for my son and DIL last year. Was a little displease with the turnout.

I just bought Tshirt transfer paper. We hand quilted it. Made some kind of start around it and sewed in the ditch. My birth mother had her friends help with it.

Kitty must know about the straight pins... She reminds me of our fur baby Stella. :)

Wow, wow. it looks great. I want to do one. Did you print all you pictures off the computer? Are they all the same size? Did you just sash around them? I love it. I have 4 grandchildren and hundreds of favorite pictures.

red-warrior 01-31-2013 02:41 PM

What a wonderful gift!!!! I like how you think!

omgtimmcgraw 01-31-2013 08:59 PM

I did print them from the computer. But make sure you tell your printer to reverse the picture only cause when it prints and you don't and any words are in the photo they will be backwards. I ironed on the photo to a 6x6 square all photos are 3.5x5. I added all photos after I put the quilt together. Then we quilted it.

I wanted to make this for my mil for two reason on is she told me she wanted a quilt and second she lost her mom six months before I gave her the quilt and it was the first birthday and Xmas she didn't have her there. We made her day very special.
