Quilt Block

This is a sample block of what I am working on for a queen size quilt for me and my husband. I am on a different computer and don't have my picture thing worked it yet to have pics show the way I want them. Hopefully, I will get that straightened out soon. It's a 14 1/2 " block with tiny prints my mother left me. They are very delicate tiny prints of pale pink, pale green, and a hint of black in there. On the alternate white blocks I decided to add a small hand embroidery abstract type flower in the centers. I hand pieced everything. I also have several more blocks completed toward my quilt, but this is the first to have the hand embroidered design on it. It was so much fun. Thank you for looking. :) |
I think it is going to be very nice once completed and can't wait to see it. I really enjoy hand embroidery, but haven't tried hand piecing.
Minibarn I too look forward to getting it finished. Any ideas on any colors for the binding or for that matter between the blocks? I haven't thought that far ahead, but welcome all input.
Looks like it is going to be very pretty.
nicely done

How special this will be. Thanks for sharing. BrendaK

I hope you enjoy the process of making these pretty blocks. Lots of good memories of Mom as you work. Can't wait to see it finished.

Very lovely looking. My favorite type of quilt.
I think that will be an heirloom quilt. So delicate looking. A piece of your mother and you in it. Lovely
Yes, I think of my mother as I am piecing. I miss her so much.
colors. maybe a darker pink, sort of a rose color would work in between. or a green if it is in the print. keep on going. We want to see it when finished too.
Very pretty! :)
It's gonna be a great quilt!
That is going to be spectacular! I applaud anyone who hand pieces. I do not think I have the patience. Will you be putting sashing between the blocks? Cannot wait to see the whole thing.
That will be a lovely memory when you are finished.
Yes I will be putting sashing between the blocks.
very nice. how about pink, the same shade as in the flower, then a shade darker around that.
I am getting lots of good ideas. That is what is so special about this board. :)

Hi Susan, long time since we chatted. I love the block you've made. I can't make out the colors very well though. I know if it were mine I would like to use the pink or the pale green for the binding and between the blocks. My husband wouldn't want the pink so maybe the green. It is a pretty print though. Take care. Hugs Mary

Hey Lynnie !!! I like your idea of two shades of one color too. I bet the pink would be pretty. I just know my husband wouldn't want pink in our room. lol. Susan said it was going on her and her husbands bed sooo....... Maybe he likes pink. Hugs
