Quilt for boy at Boy's Ranch
2 Attachment(s)
Our guild has sort of adopted a local Boy's Ranch, with boys from 12-18 years old. The boys get to take the quilts with them when they leave. There are 15 new arrivals at the ranch, and we are working on getting 15 boys-type quilts ready to deliver. I am not fond of making twin sized quilts, but it is for a good cause. Here is the top I just finished.
Two pictures, because, as it turns out, the sports fabric I selected sort of looks like leopard spots from a distance...oh well, I like it and I hope a teenage boy will. The back will be the football fabric, so it will sort of be reversible. I wish I had selected a different pattern to show off the fabrics better, but I didn't. It looks a lot different than I visualized. (The pattern is sort of a crazy quilt pattern...I have no name or real pattern of it that I can share. It is from a workshop I took years and years ago.) any boy would love it! Great collection of sports fabric. Great cause. Bless you for your service.

Some young man will be crazy about it. I know my son would have when he was playing high school football.

That is very cool!!! There will be envy in the ranks for the boy who gets to take that home. Awesome quilt!

Perfect for a boy -- great colors, great prints, and great piecing design!
|
It's a great top for a young man! Sports fabrics and eye catching design!
|
I like the pattern, it would make good use of scraps (of which our quilting groups has many) for charity quilts. Do you use templates ?

Very nice. It does look like leopard spots from a distance but up close you can see it's not and whatever lucky young man gets it will be looking at it up close.
