A quilt for a dear friend at church
2 Attachment(s)
While I love so many people in my small church, a 95 year old woman has become so very special to me. She is very loving and has adopted me and my family, despite the fact that I have two super wonderful parents already. She was recently in the hospital and although I didn't finish the quilt in time, when I did give it to her she cried. And I found out that she refuses to use it and is instead going to hang it on her wall. I didn't know what pattern to pick when first deciding on making her quilt, but I knew it had to be colorful. She loves blues and purples and always has sequins and other shiny things on her outfits. Luckily I was able to use my stash of batiks, with the exception of the backing material.

That's one of the great joys of quilting, not only do we enjoy the creative process of making the quilt, we get to experience the total pleasure of giving a quilt to a dear friend or relative who will treasure it as a token of our love for them. Your gift is beautiful!
