Loretta posted a link to an antique doll quilt site and there was a beautiful checker board quilt there that I just loved.

So, I reproduced it for myself with different colors in my program. I was thinking of mixing and matching all different colors in one or just maintaining it as two colors.

I don't like sharp contrast, so I muted it a bit. This design isn't for everybody, but for me it's appealing.

They are all great but I tend to lean toward the blue and green one. Let us know what you decide and we want pics.

I'm with Patrice. I like the blue best.

I really like the design and my favorite color is the blue and green. Can't wait to see yours done. :D

Thank you everyone. I'm going to attempt to make one of the checker board blocks next weekend.

But, I have all color variations.

There was just something about the lovely indigo blue and white one from the site that really appealed to me.

I'm leaning toward blue too, but what shade of blue??????

:D

Can't forget red. But, actually of all my fabric stash, the most likely option for me to make (so as not to go out and buy all kinds of fabric) is this yellow/gold/green color. It's not as nice as the blue, but it's a shade of batik that I have lots and lots of.

Hey! I like it...................a lot. You did such a great job of reproducing. It never matters who likes it as long as you do. Short story here.
My daughter as a very young woman taught me that. She wanted to paint her room and when I looked to see what she was doing, she was painting hippos with some strange color. I told her that hippos weren't that color (duh). She said, "It's my painting and I'll paint them any color I like." She was thinking outside the box long before I ever even heard that term.

I love the teal and beige, but I also loved the red one! Are you just playing on EQ or are you actually going to make the jump and make one??? (I've designed 1000 quilts on EQ, and never made one of them!)

DazzleMe! 06-29-2008 04:02 PM

I like them all!! That is a neat pattern. What ever you choose it will be nice. I cant wait to see it.

Looks like fun - waiting for your final version.

tlrnhi 06-29-2008 04:29 PM

I like the blue and teal color ones.
But then again, I am partial to those colors lol

gcathie 06-29-2008 05:01 PM

Sorry to say I'm of now help to you...I like all thee colors....Good luck picking just one..

Cordelia 06-29-2008 06:37 PM

I'm going to make it in a lap quilt size. It will probably be the gold/green and beige that I already have the fabric for.

I've been playing on my EQ program. Of all the items I've designed, I've made two of them. This will be my third project.

I have to calculate yardage, block sizes, etc.

But, I've got a craft show coming up the Saturday after next and mom's already got me geared toward Christmas.

We want to make these folded star Christmas tree ornaments. (These are at a website selling them, but we're going to make some too -- tee-hee.) Why buy when you can make?

Now I understand why everyone likes these quilting computer programs. What fun! I'm voting for the blue/green combo one but all are nice. (and I'm looking forward to the finished product whatever color you choose.....)
