Did not have specific plans for this quilt - but decided it needed to go to a former student who is a single Mom with major health issues. She also just lost her Dad - so I wrapped it up and sent it off for a "long distance" hug.

This was a Connecting Threads kit that I bought on a whim. I was pleased with how it came out.

That's a neat one!! Love the colors and the pattern.
I'm sure the young lady will feel your hug every time she wraps it around her shoulders, and will feel better about her life because someone cares!!

Beautiful quilt, I love r/w/black. Quilter's hugs are very special, they do make you feel loved. I almost always make a quilt for family members who are going in for surgery, and I can't be there. They say they really appreciated them while they were recovering. That was really thoughtful of you.

Thanks for all the kind words. It was a great pattern to make - very easy. Unlike my next WIP- there were no points to match and very little squaring up issues.

It just felt right - no one should have to handle problems like that all at once - never mind at such a young age!! Already packaged it and sent it off to her. I cannot wait for her to receive it (I did not tell her what I was sending!!)
