Well i can now check this ufo off my list....i started this back in the spring but after a snide remark by the "friend" i was making it for well i put it away....she bought all the supplies. I got the top all done and showed her to see if she liked it and she says oh its soooo pretty and she loved it....then says i could of done it i just dont want to...well she doesnt even own a sewing maching...my husband said i should of just handed it over to her with the supplies and let her finish it...but i had to see it through...I used warm and natural batting and i love the way its all crinkly and sozy after i washed it....i did have a issue with the quilting silver pencil not coming out...but after soaking all night it got alot better.
i alternated straight line in the cube squares and on the pinwheels i did a small stipple, leaves in the sashing and swirls in the first brown border and loop d loops in the last border i didnt include a picture of the backing bc its a very busy print that she picked out and you cant see any of the quilting
Blessings

Isn't it interesting how easy piecing and quilting are if you don't have a clue as to what you are talking about?!?! It really is a pretty quilt and I admire you for finishing it!

I like! I like!

This is so very warm and inviting. Bless you for forging on even though there was anguish through it. I am certain your heart has lifted with its completion.

Some people have no clue what they are talking about. I admire you for finishing it.

You did a good job on this quilt, it is really great that you decided to go ahead and finish it. I would have been like your hubby, I would have wanted to just hand it back to her and told her to finish it herself. Good for you for finishing it. Lord BLess you.

harvsstuff 10-05-2011 07:21 AM

I like the colors you used, very nice.

boohoofish 10-05-2011 07:35 AM

Very nice - she doesn't deserve it. You were a gem to finish it up after that comment.

jemma 10-05-2011 07:39 AM

great job-- congrats for finishing it--just make it the first and last-- it would be tempting to hand her a bill for the quilting but i guess not worth the hassel--do somthing just for your self now and enjoy your quilting as you are suposed to

I admire you for finishing an unappreciated job. Nice work. You will be blessed for it.

Very nice.... Do you have a longarm? I always want to know, I get so discouraged when I see all the beautiful quilting knowing mine can't hold a candle to them because I don't have a quilter and from what I have been told the prices are will not be able to afford to send one out.

You did the right thing, but I know it was hard. You will be rewarded. Beautiful quilt!

Well, I think It's Yummy!!

Bet she will have to make the Next One herself!! LOL

crystaltx 10-13-2011 05:55 PM

It looks AMAZING...I can't even imagine the time you put into that since I am new to quilting and have only done tiny quilts. I love way you pieced it, and I can't believe your 'friend' would say something like that. You are quite a friend for finishing it.

wolfkitty 10-13-2011 06:27 PM

I probably would have completed it, but it might have taken a little while for me to get to that point. Good job! Blessings for you and her.
