Just finished a quilt pattern that I got from Geta's site, wish that I had done it like hers that had the darker background but oh, well, live & learn. The top looked wretched so I decided to try quilting it myself just for the stippling/meandering practise and it looked better after that, one of these days I am going to be proud enough of my work to take one to a long armer. The first?? is a closeup of a block, the 2nd is a picture of the quilt and the 3rd(cushion cover) is my small attempt at OBW, someday I really want to try a an OBW quilt, I was just playing around to see how it works. Thanks for looking.

I love the quilt!!! I think you did a wonderful job on the quilting!!! Your OBW pillow is beautiful!!! :D:D:D

Deb Ny 12-09-2009 06:38 PM

I wouldn't be ashamed to take it to a long arm quilter, it's beautiful!
??sorry, but what's OBW?

earthwalker 12-09-2009 06:40 PM

I think its really pretty and maybe you are being too hard on yourself regarding your work. Your quilting looks great and the fabric with the butterflies is just beautiful.

Mamaskeeto 12-09-2009 06:48 PM

Very pretty. Your quilting looks great so why would you want to take it to a longarmer

Barb_MO 12-09-2009 06:48 PM

You shouldn't be ashamed of that. Looks like a good job to me. You did good on the quilting too. Now I don't see any reason to ever send one out to be quilted.
Love those fabrics and I think the light makes the print fabric stand out really well.

An OBW is a One Block Wonder, there have been some quilts on here that are just stunning and it is all from one piece of busy (usually, I think) fabric. Someday I'm going to do one, I think they are just gorgeous. If you go in the "Search" and type in OBW you will see some

Thank you all, for the compliments, I know I am my own worst critic but I'm OK with this one, it just didn't turn out as well as in my head. Oh, well, its the first one for hubby & I (I have made 4 semi successes and gave them away). You people are all my inspiration and I am learning so much from this board.

Deb Ny 12-09-2009 07:53 PM

Thanks, I'll check it out.

Looks lovely.

Pinkiris 12-10-2009 08:31 PM

Everything that you did looks great to me! I wouldn't take anything to a long arm quilter if I could meander like you! Your color choices are so unique--I really like them!

What is "Geta's " site? I've seen several references to the site and Geta's work, but am lost - have no idea what y'all are referring to.

Very nice work, by the way.

Yes, she does do some amazing work and gives ideas from beginner to complicated projects. I believe she is a member here and pops in once in a while when something new is on her website.

Nice!! I really like that fabric! Great job on your OBW, it really changes the look of the pattern, very pretty!

I think all of us are our own worst critics, at times, Suzy. You did a beautiful job on your quilt.

Bevanger 12-11-2009 09:03 AM
