Quilt from Goodwill
6 Attachment(s)
I was walking through Goodwill yesterday and this just fell out at me, it's not beautiful but to me I love it. I think it's Civil War prints and it all hand done and as you can see in pictures, I think it's old as you can see all the knots on the back of the quilt. It very thick and warm and this is on my queen size bed. Wish I knew more about it. I paid 20.00 for it.

I’m glad you saved it. Lovely quilt.

Nice find indeed!
What a wonderful quilt to find at a thrift store.
Wow, a great find!
Congratulations on your find and thank you for rescuing a very nice quilt. If only quilts could talk wouldn't we love to hear the stories of how they get to Goodwill or any other thrift store!
So happy you saved it.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for rescuing it!

Wonderful find!
That's a great old quilt. It wanted you to have it :)
Wow....awesome find!!!
Thanks everyone, I really love it and it's very warm. I lost my daughter about a month ago and I've been going through a very tuff time, not wanting to go out or anything. We went to our Grandson's 1st birthday party and left early, so I wanted to stop at Goodwill for some reason and guess this was it.

It is nice the quilt found a new home and the work of the maker will be appreciated. If you learn more about the fabrics that date the quilt, let us know. Enjoy staying warm under your new to you quilt.
The intensive quilting and the unfamiliar fabric patterns make me wonder if it is a Kantha quilt. Especially that black and white print in the second picture looks Asian. At any rate, a great deal and it will keep you warm.
Thanks ladies, I'm so glad to have found it.

Some things are just meant to be. Glad this lovely find was able to brighten your day. My sincere sympathy on the loss of your daughter. Give yourself time to grieve but know that we are all pulling for you. Also know that quilting is great therapy for some of us, and concentrating on something for others takes us to a happier place.
What a treasured find … lucky you! Whoever donated it didn't know what they had … there are "hours/weeks" of love in that quilt!
Oh no, I had no idea you lost your daughter. I'm so sorry for you.
Thanks so much.

So sorry for your loss. The quilt needed saving and choose you-maybe it was an angel that lead you to the store that day. What a blessing!

I am so sorry for your loss. I hope that quilting and quilt friends will help you cope. You certainly did need to find some comfort at this time. I'm glad that quilt found you. It really does look old and well cared for. Don't you just marvel at the realization that someone gave it up when it may have been in their family for generations?
So sorry for your loss. Prayers to you and your family. You were meant to go to that store. Great save. BrendaK
