My sil is going through a tough time right now. She has breast cancer and had a double masectomy two weeks age and lost her 40 year old sister to cancer less than a week later. I can't be there to help so I mailed this quilt to her yesterday. I told her that she would have a hug from me every time she used her quilt.
(She is doing well physically but is struggling emotionally right now.) |
She certainly has alot to deal with at this time. The quilt is gorgeous and I am sure she will get much enjoyment out of it. I will keep her and her family in my prayers.

Even the design of the blocks looks like a hug!

My thoughts and prayers are with her. I hear too many woman and lately more men suffering from breast cancer. My friends daughter just had a double mastectomy and she was only 30. You are a wonderful SIL for doing this for her! My LQS gives everyone a free yard of material if they show their receipt from a mammogram. I get mine next month. |
Beautiful hug quilt. Saying a prayer too for your SIL. I too have had a double mastectomy (9 years ago) so understand what she is going through.

Tell her to hang in there My best friend had a double mastecomy 5 yrs ago & is still cancer free God bless
|
What a beautiful & thoughtful gift. I'm sure it will bring great comfort to your sil in her pain & loss. I hope she will feel the love that went into it & that comes through it from you each time she enjoys cuddling with it. Cancer is a 4-letter word, but we have to be positive when we face it like David was when he faced Goliath.

Your gift is stupendous as well as beautiful and full of love.
I am choked and teared up about your SIL situation. How very sad. I said a prayer for her and the family. |

She will be in my prayers, and the quilt is so beautiful, and you did a wonderful job. And she needs all the hugs she can get, and then some. please tell her our prayers are with her, and bless you for sending her comfort and love. God bless. Penny

I'm sorry to hear of the difficult time your family is going through, as horrific as it is for your sill, it's also a difficult time for those of you who love her. Your quilt shows how much you care, she will feel your love. I will keep all of you in my prayers. Here is a (((hug))) for you, just for being so thoughtful.

We are very lucky here in the Uk as once you turn 50 you get to have a mammogram every 3 years on the National Health. Unfortunately last time I had mine the nurse told me a large percentage of women do not bother to turn up for their appointment. How silly is that. Once you are 70 you do not get a recall, but are still able to have the mammogram as long as you ask for it. I do.
Thoughts are with your SIL and family |
How beautiful. I am a 17 year survivor of breast cancer so keep thinking positive!
|
Beautiful quilt and a wonderful thing to do for your SIL. Hugs for you both.
|
What a beautiful quilt. Bless her heart. She does have a lot to deal with. I sure she will enjoy this quilt, knowing the love you put into it.
My oldest sister has breast cancer that has now metastasized to her lungs. I am in the process of making her a quilt, that I had started many years ago. I've been "away" from my sewing/quilting for years. I allowed life to get in the way. I want to finish Judy's first. |
She will feel all the love you put in every stitch. She will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Update: SIL was recovering really well. She has the best attitude. She started chemo Thursday. The docs say that she should prepare her self for some nasty side effects. She has a really bad family history and they are taking no chances.

Beautiful inside out ! gentle hugs and prayers
