Quilt my own
4 Attachment(s)
Hi after 8 months i finally have one new quilt to show. I quilted this using a twin needle around each square and on the borders, and fmq on the fern motif on the mustard squares.
Still lots of room for improvements. but going well. this quilt had 1420 pieces in it, 1350 in the green and bone sashing. which gave it a lovely rippling effect all over the quilt. which i had hoped it would. A bit of a challange but I am super pleased with the effect. Janedb |
It's a beauty...really love the fern motif and your fabrics are gorgeous. Well done.

Thankyou very much, even though it took in all 3 weeks of work over 2 months, I would make it again. Janedb

Beautiful quilt, great job.

Very nice and the decorative stitching really adds to this. I like the idea of the twin needle. After all the years sewing and all the quilting done, I never once thought of using the twin needle. You got me thinking now!

looking good....

Great job! Can't wait to see what your next project will be...if you're anything like me, you'll do something smaller while you re-group.

Hello and thankyou, I saw the use of the twin needle on another quilt from a club i am in. and played around on my janome horizon with patterns that can be used with the twin needle. I also brought the 3 different sizes that are available for my machine. After I did the twin stiching around each square I felt it would be good to do it as the main type of quilting for all of it. I also used the walking foot that comes with my machine.

Hi if you look at the second picture it shows green and white material there are tiny tri angles in the same material. in the original pattern it had two different colours but i wonted it to look like a frame.

Lovely quilt. The colors go so well together. The quilting is wonderful. But I was trying to figure out where the 1420 pieces are. That is quite a challenge.

I love that fern design. That is so cool how you used two color of thread with the double needle. I haven't seen that done before. I was fun to see.
