It's coming along. I ran out of matching fabrics in my stash. I was hoping to NOT use fabric twice, but it looks like I may have to. Just try to match different fabrics... I have one square to go on bottom row. Then 3 more rows to finish.. but it's being put aside while I collect more scraps AND I'm finishing up my first quilt, then making her sister a Disney Princess Quilt... Whatch'a think? To me I think the Tiger Print makes all the colors POP

Very pretty! I agree, I think the sashing really sets it off. Looks like you are hooked , Bev.

Marcia 07-02-2008 10:37 AM

Bev-I think you've got it!! Great quilt. Too bad you have to put it aside for a while-you are on a roll!!!

Cordelia 07-02-2008 10:48 AM

I LOVE it! Every time I see someone's projects and I love them, I think why didn't I think of that?

That is very nice.

I love the sashing.

what size are your small squares, I know I have some I can send. I take it each square is different. Pm me the size and your adress :D :D :D

I love to see all the variations of scrappy quilts. This one looks like fun. I get tired of doing the same blocks with the same fabrics over and over, so choose patterns that don't require that.

Chele 07-02-2008 01:17 PM

Oooohh, that's looking spectacular! I do think the animal print makes all your colors pop. It sparkles!

jbsstrawberry 07-02-2008 01:22 PM

Very nice Bev!! I would have never thought to use animal print for the sashing!! It looks great!

Hey! It's another Wild Thing! :D I don't think anyone will notice if there's two of the same pieces in there. Great job! You're so creative!

Heh, heh, heh! Looks like we've snared another newbie into our evil world of quilting! We've got her now, girls! She'll never escape!

Well, I can't stay away from it, BUT I really need to put the backing (fleece) on my first one and get the Princess one going as they are Xmas gifts.. In the meantime, I'll pick up some fabrics.....

tlrnhi 07-03-2008 03:50 AM

Ok call me weird, strange, whatever, but I don't go by a pattern, I make up my own. I have better luck that way. I don't sew in strips. I do it the old fashion way and cut one or 2 at a time. It works for me. Oh except the sashing I cut 2 in strips...

Any - All.... Its scrappy hun, so it don't matter. I just go thru and match them up...... I guess you call it matching up when you put 2 fabrics that look good together. Oh good grief, Am I starting my own lingo? LOL

This is so simple, I just did 4 patches. Sewed 4 patched together, framed it with 2 in. strips.

It actually happened by accident. I had two blocks put together and thought how boring it looked. I pulled out the tiger print to cut a square and I noticed how it made my other squares come alive, so I tried a strip around just one and liked it.
