This is the second year I have made a quilt to raffle for our local humane society. Last year we made right at $300, this year I am hoping we can top $500! ALL the money goes to the spay and neuter programs. I made the decision a few years ago to pick a cause I am passionate about and support to the best of my ability. I want all animals to be wanted! So this is my cause. I made the pattern up. Hope you like it!

Hopefully you have more than 1 week to sell tickets. Try to see if you can sell tickets at your local farmers market or other town gathering to spread the word about your fundraiser. Our Local Quilt Guild sells tickets for a year for the guild fundraiser "Opportunity" Quilt. We made almost $18,000 by taking the time to go to all guild meetings throughout California.

Also feline fanatic, the applique is the National symbol for the Humane Society. Our branch out here in California uses it as well.

AW, great quilt and cause!! I usually donate to animal rights and care too. All three of my fur babies were rescues.

Can you believe our oldest (11 years old) when he was about 4 weeks old someone was riding down the road and threw out a paper bag and he was in it! Gosh, broke our hearts! He is healthy, happy, and has a good life now so guess you can say it was for the best but who can do something like that.

I based the applique on the logo for Central Veterninary Hospital in Fremont, CA, that I found on the internet. But I streamlined the animals and altered the dog to more resemble a Belgian Malinois since I have 2!
