My LQS had bee fabric so this is what I came up with. I had help from the owner also. I also had enough material for a mini quilt. The receiving blankets are the no binding blankets and are so easy. I did quilt bees, bee hive and butterflies on back of quilt. Don't know if you can see them. Hope mom and dad like the quilt.

I really love this idea using receiving blankets. You mentioned the smaller quilts. I thought they were burp pads to match your blanket. You've given me a lovely idea for a shower gift. Thank you. :-)
