So just finished this quilt top. It's one I'm working on for the craft fair. It's aproximately 61'' square. I think it turned out really beautiful! I'm thinking about selling it for around $100...thoughts? Too high, too low? Just right?

I'm calling it "Musical Medly"

Full on view.

Close up of the blocks so you can see the material. I think it's pretty

I love it! You did a good job!

erstan947 05-16-2010 12:21 PM

Love it. Enjoy the craft fair! Wish I could go too.

craftybear 05-16-2010 12:21 PM

awesome!

craftybear 05-16-2010 12:21 PM

where is the craft fair at?

craftybear 05-16-2010 12:22 PM

what other crafts are you making for the craft fair?

virtualbernie 05-16-2010 12:26 PM

It did turn out beautifully! Great job!

was too low for me. If I was wanting it I might be willing to pay 200. but it just depends on your area. You can always haggle with who ever is looking to buy it.

Nice :!:

It's the Smithville Jamboree Festival in Smithville TN on July 2-4th. I've got a bunch of other things ready, but they're in the low price range (under $20) this is my first real big thing that I've made. I think $100 would be reasonable...:-)

You know your area better. I always say if both the seller and buyer are happy with the price, then it is the right one.

BTW,,,Great quilt..My DD is a musician and I have some musical fabric. Thank you for reminding me......

I wouldn't sell it for less than $225, but if you feel it must be less then double the cost of materials and charge that.

Dix 05-16-2010 02:02 PM

We had on about your size recently for our church youth silent auction. 20 of us made blocks and put it together. it brought 400.00. We were thrilled as was our youth director.

Wow! That's so awesome! I have no idea what to sell it for, I'm just not wanting to price it so high that it just sits there. I want it to move! LOL

And my husband is a bass player so when I saw this fabric at Joann's I got inspired.

auntbarb 05-16-2010 02:23 PM

you should charge more! At least 2- 2.5 time the cost of the material!!

Actually the $100 is 2.5X the price of the fabric...lol

Jim's Gem 05-16-2010 04:10 PM

Very nice!! I hope you do well at your craft fair!!!

mrsj82 05-16-2010 09:08 PM

Thanks, I think it's gorgeous but you know I'm biased...lol

DebraK 05-16-2010 09:15 PM

That's how I would price it, too.

pattral 05-16-2010 11:03 PM

I agree you shoul charge morefor sure the cost of the material like auntbarb said and you are entitled to some cost for all the time & labor you put in.
Start high to begin withand if you really want to lower it and you don't have any takers at first start lowering it gradually, but i would nt take less then 250.00 it great.

Sheila Elaine 05-16-2010 11:05 PM

Very pretty & will look great for the holidays.

barnbum 05-17-2010 03:06 AM

I think some think it's a quilt--and others think it's the top only. It's the top only, correct?

It's a great pattern for two fabrics!

Best of luck in the sale!

reach for the stars 2 05-17-2010 03:24 AM

Very pretty. Price always depends on area. Check out some there and them price accordingly.

Quilt4u 05-17-2010 05:12 AM

Love it But I think it is to low.

CarrieAnne 05-17-2010 05:15 AM

Its really pretty! I think it depends on your area too, some places would get more.

Jingle 05-17-2010 05:30 AM

It is hard to sell anything around this area, craft shows, fairs and such are not popular and haven't been for a few years. I do wish you good luck.

mytwopals 05-17-2010 10:01 AM

It's very nice.

laceybritt 05-17-2010 11:08 AM

Lovely!! I agree it depends on the area. We just had our Vidalia Onion Festival and none of the crafts were really selling.
It seems the people in our area are still concerned about the economy.

978gray 05-17-2010 11:27 AM

Love the musical fabric and the quilt is great too!

mrsj82 05-17-2010 01:05 PM

Thanks guys! I think I'll start to try to sell it for $250 and as the day goes on if it doesn't sell I'll lower it. I won't take less than $100 for it though. That's double the cost of materials, and I'm not taking less. Hopefully it will sell though! Thanks for the input!

Now I get to go finish it, so that I can actually sell it! :-)

littlehud 05-17-2010 06:09 PM

$100.00 seems low, but go with what you feel right with.
