This was my first time using the light weight Heat & Bond. I just couldn't stop making circles! I applied them to the background square and then machine blanket stitched with invisible thread. I loved making this top and arranging the colors, but the Heat & Bond does make it seem a bit like it would be a good quilt for sleeping in the rain because it must be waterproof! I would use the Heat & Bond again because you can do such cool stuff with it, but it is a different finish.
OOOPS, second time using Heat & Bond,,. I have another one with far fewer circles! |
Pat Sloan has a great technique for cutting down on the stiff when using Heat Bond. =)
LOVE the quilt. And the little peek a boo block is adorable! |

very nice...I like this...great job

Cool quilt, Love the colors.
There are a couple of Heat and Bonds, one is very stiff. I usually use wonder under. Do you window the circles. That is take the center out of the circles so you end up with only 1/4 inch of fusible on the edge of your circle. |
I love this! I used to use the Heat n Bond but have since switched to Steam a Seam 2 - it's tacky BEFORE you iron it on so can be repositioned and I think it's softer, though I do the cutting away thing on bigger pieces still.
