Quilted Batik Furniture Covers
3 Attachment(s)
We have been using some Sure Fit furniture covers that were way too big for this delicate furniture, and I finally made some customs covers. I used Tonga Batik in 108" wide and clingy brown flannel on the back. Here are a few photos of the finished couch cover. I am still working on the chair cover.
Basically this is a large rectangle, with smaller rectangles attached to the sides for arm pieces. I free motion quilted each piece with large stippling, fitted them, then trimmed and bound them. I used a few upholstery pins to secure them in place. Voila! |
I love it!!!! I have one from Bed Bath and Beyond that has done well, but I wash it frequently, thus It's time for something else. You have done a great job. Thanks for the idea and much easier on the pocket book:)

Looks great, easier to clean then the furniture. I should think about this as my cats lay on the furniture. Great idea.
that is wonderful and a great idea. Protection for the couch from hair etc. Good job. Great idea, I may give it a try. Love the color of it too. Love your dog too, so healthy looking and pretty.
I bet it will wear better than the ones from Bed Bath and Beyond also. And you were able to get the colors and the size you wanted. Great idea.
looks great.love your doggie-a real cutie
Very nice!
that must be a hard job

That is a fabulous piece of furniture. If you ever want to get rid of it, you have a taker here!!! I wonder how much it would cost to ship to PA. HA HA. The cover is teriffic and it looks like they are approved of by a very pretty creature! A great idea.

Wow, I love this also. I have a dog and I use a sofa cover but I really like this. Good job.

Looks great! wonderful idea.
You sure had a great idea. I'll bet it lasts till you're sick of it: that fabric will not show any stains and it's a good weight, so it won't wear out. Sorry, but you did it to yourself. lol Looks like your pup already approves!
What a great idea!! I should try this.
VERY NICE!! Loved seeing the batiks used this way.

i have a chair we use in our trailer that my husband wants me to make a cover for. any ideas as to what would work. i would appreciate your input.

awesome !!!! and love the quilt inspector:thumbup:

Great idea and well executed! I will be saving this idea for when it is needed in my house. Love the idea of using flannel on the back so the cover won't slip around or off the couch. Thanks for posting this. Your couch sitter looks like one we had a number of years ago. Ours was a great dog and we sure do miss her. Best dog we ever had!!!
Great idea. Thanks for sharing. I have a leather couch and love seat that get pretty cold in the winter. I should make these to keep my butt warm this winter. I'm sure my 2 dogs would love it, too.
