Finally, the bag is finished. I had to completely "redo" the band and handle. The original instructions said to use fusible fleece , but that was way too heavy for the grommets. They kept popping out. So I bought new fabric and used a lightweight interfacing. The grommets then went on beautifully.

Is that the grid and grommet bag pattern?? I made a lot of those a couple of years ago and sold a couple of them. They are easy to make and putting in the big grommets too. Enjoy your purse is beautiful. Huggies, Fay

Beautiful bag. Would you mind telling me what the name of the pattern is? I would like to try one with denim. I am a blue jeans great-grandma. It must be my second childhood.lol Thanks and great job.

Yes, it is the Grid and Grommet handbag by Indigo.
The name of the pattern is Grids and Grommets by Indigo Junction.
I used a lightweight woven fusible interfacing for the band. This was my first experience using grommets. If I make another one, I will place the grommets slightly more toward the center of the bag..
I love your helpful tips. Did you use a special tool for the grommets?
That is really gorgeous!! You did a wonderful job!! :D
That's very striking. Nice fabric choices to complement the design.

Wow, that is really cute! I love the bag and the fabric.

No tools needed for the grommets, They are large plastic ones and you get a placement template so you can mark where it goes. It snaps together and that is it. I'll have to make some more. Now where did I put my pattern.... I made mine two years ago. Huggies, Fay

Love your bag. The grommets look great. Were they hard to apply to the bag?
That's really neat, I love the colors and the style. Good job, thanks for sharing.
The first time I tried to snap them in, they kept popping out; however, when I reworked the band, I used lightweight woven interfacing and they were easy to apply. You have to be careful about cutting the hole. You need to leave about 1/8 inch or a little bit more before you snap the grommets together. You do not have to have any tools.

What a fantastic bag!

Just love it -------------- have to have one.
