I made these quilted hot pads and towels for my son for his new duplex. I'm saving them to give on Christmas day!
For hotpads, I layer, bottom fabric, layer of cotton batting, layer of insulbrite, layer of cotton batting and the final layer of fabric. Then I quilt them together, add binding and they are done in a short amount of time! Quick gifts! Hot pads and towels |

What a nice set. I have fabric I'd love to use for a set for my DD (not this Christmas). What kind of towels did you use and where did you get them?
|
Usually when I make kitchen towels I use Osnaburg or homespun cloth that I preshink well. These towels were made with a fabric made for towels (the sides were already hemmed). I'm sorry but I do not remember the make but it was a major company and I purchased it from The Patchwork Place quilt shop in Norman, OK. I preshrunk this fabric also just to be on the safe side. If I make it over there this week, I'll post the name/maker of the fabric!
Thank you for the compliments! Vanessa in Oklahoma |
