Wish the pictures were brighter, this looks like a beauty. My favorite color and one of my favorite patterns, in fact I made an orange Dresden plate about two years ago after years of collecting orange fabrics, going back to the days when they were almost impossible to find. How big is your quilt?

sewnbug 08-05-2012 11:41 AM

That's a beauty for sure! Love it.

Nanaquilts44 08-05-2012 11:51 AM

I think you quilt is quite stunning. I would love to learn how you embroidered in the center. Please add an explanation or how-to for us folks who are learning all this fine stuff.

I would never have the courage to tackle something that difficult. The quilt is beautiful and the colors are perfect for it.

SewSew2 08-05-2012 03:54 PM

Very nice work...you did great. I know you are really proud of your achivement..your talents show in this quilt

sue1964 08-05-2012 09:56 PM

Well I am just learning alot myself...But for the centers i used an imbroidery machine that my dad gave me, the hardest part was to get it in the center of the hoop, well that was ok with the manual jog button, I use 4 different patterns for the centers. I never FMQed before so I just tested my machine on a small sample and just moved the fabric all over mostly little circles.

Doing the centers like that just kicked this beauty up a couple of notches! What a brilliant idea!

Very nice! There are several thousand Vol fans down here that would love to have it! LOL! Very nice.

JEM2012 08-06-2012 01:07 PM

Lovely! I would love to try a dresden, but the amount of hand sewing required is a little frightening for me...

quiltingcurious 08-06-2012 01:52 PM

Extraordinary work or art! I love the colors you put together and the embroidery makes it looks like Mosaic tile!

sniktasemaj 08-06-2012 02:09 PM

It is really pretty. My husband graduated HS in 1964 and I graduated college in 1964 so that year is special to us.
