Quilted Oven Mitts

1 Attachment(s)
I lost my favorite oven mitts at Thanksgiving when I used them to take a hot dish to someone's house... couldn't find them anywhere.

I had some upholstery fabric from the "free table" at the quilt guild and decided to make some new ones. I made four because that is how much fabric I had. Here is the pattern that I used: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JtS5itzH9tk

I really like the looks of them. I think I'll hang a pair on my wall.

Of course, I found the lost pair as soon as I started making these.

Those look great.

nicely done

They look lovely! Thanks for sharing the link. I need to make a pair after Hubby accidentally put a pair on a hot burner.

Cute mitts and you can always use another pair! One pair to use and one to the wash.

So glad you found the miscreant gloves. The new ones will look great as a wall hanging. Like the fabric pattern. Good job, and thanks for the link.

Wow...those look great. Thanks for the link. I didn't realize how easy they would be to do. I'm in desperate need, as we had an oven mitt mishap at Thanksgiving!

Those look great ! DD lost hers I made special for her at a church potluck but they showed up at later gathering, snatched them up, and put in her purse--lol !

Those are very pretty mitts. :)

This is the first day in a while that when I come to the picture link that it looks normal to see what others have made. Before it listed things that made no sense.

Great job on making your oven mits.

I wonder where these mits and pot holders go?

bibi 12-11-2019 06:25 AM

Beautiful and functional. One never can have enough of oven mitts.

Great oven mitts Jennifer, we can always use extra oven mitts so you have inspired me to make some. I will need to go through my stash and find something suitable. They look easy, thanks

Very nice, I love the fabric, but isn't that always the way as soon as you make it you find the other, but you can never have enough, thank you for sharing

sewingsuz 12-14-2019 04:36 PM

They are wonderful. How do they compare to your favorite ones?

I appreciate your sharing the link, too.

I haven't had the courage to use the new ones yet! They're too pretty... LOL!

Judith1005 12-15-2019 06:16 AM

There beautiful. Now, you'll always have a back up.

Thanks for the link. I need a couple new oven mitts. But, the ones in the store are so thin compared to my old trusty ones. I think I will give making a new pair a try. Doesn't hurt to have a back up.
