Quilted Snap Bags are fun to make!:)

Grab a fat quarter or scraps, batting and and a tape measure. I posted a link to a tutorial I used with info on how I made my bags. Quilt your outer bag fabric or simplify and speed up the process with pre-quilted fabric.

Our guild is making these for make-up/toiletry bags for our local Women's Shelter.

Oh so cute! Thank you for sharing the tutorial link . . . I am a bag pattern collector of sorts. HAHAHA - I have yet to make any, but I have a large collection of patterns. ~smile~

Thank you! I checked the link address and it opens for me. Sorry you are having trouble. You can copy and paste the link address or type it in your search bar to get to the link. You can also go to u-tube under quilting videos to find many other ways to make a quilted snap bag. I hope this helps!

they look fantastic and very usefull

willferg 04-10-2017 05:44 AM

If you set out to make a lot of these, you can buy measuring tape replacement rolls instead of a whole measuring tape device. One roll makes a lot of bags...

I will have to make some for the grandkids.

Homespun 04-10-2017 08:18 AM

I have made dozens of these, well. almost. I did not quilt my fabric and did my bottom corners differently. Cute!

Jordan 04-10-2017 08:22 AM

WOW! Those are really pretty and thank you for donating your time for a good cause. I especially like the first one-bright and pretty.

Same here... some quilted, some not and all different sizes. I purchased my tape at Dollar Tree for just $1. I made a black one that fits in the pocket of my car door, to keep petty cash and stuff I might need but don't want to carry in my purse. Its totally hidden in the door pocket. I also use them for cosmetics, and even made long, skinny ones to hold my TV remotes, etc. Also gave many as gifts. The uses are endless. Thanks for the link. I know many will enjoy it.

oksewglad 04-10-2017 06:39 PM

Oh the door keeper bag is a great idea...very pretty...thanks and what a great donation item....Another tape idea is to ask your construction worker son to save you his broken tape...Worked for me...

Claire123 04-10-2017 08:34 PM

These turned out really cute. I will have to learn to make these.

I was able to go to a hardware and they had some pieces of the measuring tapes that were laying around. They gave them to me for nothing.

rl2b-Roseanne 04-11-2017 03:31 AM

copycat - would you allow me use your pictures to show how cute these turn out? I'm going to share the tutorial on my blog - and would love to show off your finished bags? Thank you again for sharing!

Thank you for the reminder...my late sister made these maybe 4 or 5 years ago. I have one put away in a drawer so I will always have it as I only take it when I travel.
