[QUOTE=Capri;6541624]You can do anything if you are prepared to practice and not let yourself get discouraged. I have done so few projects, but I try to practice quilting for at least an hour every couple of days. I have watched A LOT of videos on the net but I've listened to what the experts say about it. It just takes time to get the feel for it. I've found Leah Day to be most helpful.
Like everyone else who has responded I'm absolutely blown away by this quilt. All the adjectives have been used. You, Capri are truly an artist and like many of the quilt artists I've met, you don't seem to realize it. Yes - everyone can learn the techniques; I can do that. So can most others who are willing to dedicate the time, effort and frustration it takes. But the art part goes well beyond that. Most of the rest of us make quilts; you brought this one to life. Congratulations for such a stunning result; I'm just sorry you couldn't keep it. Joyce in DE |
I'm speechless.....and if you knew me, you would know how seldom that happens! Amazing!

Amazing what types of dimension and textures this brings out in a beautiful quilt!

Amazing! Was quilting actually done on the machine in photo? Am so impressed with your finished project.

A wonderful work of art! I enjoy thread painting, too. And you said it right when you said it takes practice and perseverance. I also learned a lot from Leah Day.
